24 February 2025, Dubai, UAE – Al Farooq Omar bin Al Khattab Mosque and Centre in Dubai, under the patronage of Khalaf bin Ahmed Al Habtoor, is launching a series of distinguished religious and charitable events aimed at fostering community solidarity during the holy month of Ramadan.
Among the key events this Ramadan, the mosque will host a group of distinguished Quran reciters who will lead the prayers throughout the month. Sheikh Dr Fares Al Mustafa, the mosque’s preacher and imam, will lead the prayers from the 1st to the 4th of Ramadan. He will be followed by Sheikh Ismaeel Hasan Ismaeel Ahmed, Imam of Umm Al Shajar Mosque, Al Hidd in Bahrain, from the 5th to the 10th of Ramadan. Sheikh Dr Abdullah Mohammad Yahya Ghilan, Imam of Ibn Al-Qayyim Mosque in Madinah, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, will lead the prayers from the 11th to the 15th of Ramadan, followed by Sheikh Abdul Aziz Salem Al Zahrani, Legal Researcher at the Saudi Ministry of Justice, from the 16th to the 20th of Ramadan. Sheikh Dr Fares Al Mustafa will return for the last ten days of Ramadan.

The mosque continues to offer charitable initiatives, including the distribution of 2,500 Ramadan Mir Cards to underprivileged Emirati families to help them purchase food necessities during Ramadan, in collaboration with Dubai Police and the Al Habtoor Group. Additionally, the mosque serves over 2,000 Iftar meals daily to fasting individuals, with the total number of meals served last year reaching 65,000.
In an effort to enhance cultural communication, the mosque opens its doors to non-Muslim communities, including representatives of foreign consulates, to introduce them to the values of Islam and the culture of the UAE. They will also have the opportunity to join Muslims for Iftar, fostering understanding and coexistence between different cultures.
The religious program also includes daily lessons after Asr prayer, delivered by Sheikh Dr. Fares Al-Mustafa, titled “Values,” where he addresses different Islamic values such as tolerance, purification, citizenship, and wisdom. The mosque also offers a daily program on Instagram titled “Whispers of Light,” providing spiritual and educational content to enrich followers.
Notably, in 2024, Al Farooq Omar bin Al Khattab Mosque and Centre welcomed over 53,048 visitors, including 2,075 school students, reflecting its active role in spreading religious knowledge and promoting Islamic culture within the community.
Abdulsalam Al Marzouqi, the General Manager of the Al Farooq Omar bin Al Khattab Mosque and Centre, confirmed that these initiatives align with the mosque’s commitment to promoting values of tolerance and social solidarity during Ramadan. He emphasized that the activities aim to provide an exceptional religious and social experience in harmony with the spirit of the holy month, reflecting the UAE’s vision in enhancing coexistence and unity across various segments of society.
