Automation, IoT and AI key discussions at region’s only showcase for innovative solutions in the industry
His Excellency Eng. Dawood Abdulrahman Al Hajiri, Director General of Dubai Municipality today officially opened the second edition of SPS Automation Middle East.
The event, which runs until 4 September at the Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC), is co-located with Materials Handling Middle East, and opened to a crowd of logistics, materials handling, automation and e-commerce professionals.
H.E. Eng. Dawood Abdulrahman Al Hajiri, visited the exhibition space with Simon Mellor, CEO of Messe Frankfurt Middle East, meeting with prominent exhibitors such as Bsoche Rexroth, Beckhoff Automation, Sick, and Pilz.
“As the region’s only showcase for innovative solutions for the automation industry, it has been encouraging to see the positive turn out from colleagues and like-minded professionals,” said Rex. “The industry is turning a corner as a flurry of new technologies are poised to shape how business is done.
“With the introduction of burgeoning technologies, we enter an exciting period of how best to implement, utilise and take advantage of new solutions.”
Over the two-day runtime of SPS Automation, exhibitors and speakers will discuss the region’s readiness for the 4th industrial revolution, and will see the unveiling of automation, IoT and artificial intelligence (AI) technologies which could improve the region’s global relevance and competitiveness.
Hosted on the show floor, the SPS Automation Middle East Conference will deliver 28 sessions delivered from more than 30 expert speakers.
Delegates will have access to 20 hours of insights from industry leaders such as Obeikan, GE Digital, Aranca and AECOM.
SPS Automation Middle East is part of the SPS (Smart Production Solutions) worldwide network of events. The brand’s flagship event takes place in Nuremburg from 26 – 28 November 2019, while others include SIAF Guangzhou (26 – 28 February 2020), and SPS Italia (26 – 28 May 2020).
Media were addressed today at a roundtable by representatives from Messago Messe Frankfurt, the organiser of SPS in Nuremburg, which in 2019 will feature 1,650 exhibitors from 45 countries spanning 136,000sqm, and is expected to attract more than 67,000 visitors from across the globe, including 500 from the Middle East region.
