Yesterday, the activities of the SHARJAH STAMP EXHIBITION 2022 began at the Sharjah Mega Mall, from the Emirates Philatelic Association in celebration of the “Fifty-first Year” of the United Arab Emirates”. The opening ceremony was attended by Abdulaziz Almusallam, chairman of Sharjah Institute for Heritage, Khalifa bin Muhammad Ahmed Al Qasimi, His Excellency Muhammad Al Murr, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Library Foundation, Ali Abdul Rahman, Director of the Exhibition, Mahadi Alamin, Director of Marketing at Mega Mall, and a large number of media professionals.
The 12th edition of the Sharjah Stamp Exhibition comes back this year bringing amazing talents from all over the region from November 01 – 05, 2022 at the Sharjah Mega Mall, one of the leading retail and leisure destinations in Sharjah UAE. The Emirates Philatelic Association and Sharjah Mega Mall will hold the “Sharjah 2022 Stamp Exhibition” to celebrate the “Year of the 51st” and to promote every aspect of philately in the GCC countries.
“Sharjah has always been the center of culture in the Unites Arab Emirates and was named as the ‘Cultural Capital of the Arab World’. Therefore, the city aims to keep its heritage alive through the artwork and history displayed at several museums and exhibitions in addition to introducing talents in that field. We are proud to keep this going by bringing together the philatelists and hobbyists under one roof to communicate with their counterparts from all over the world through a series of activities that enhance the value of their hobby and open new horizons to other cultures” said Abdulla Khoory, president of the Emirates Philatelic Association”.
The exhibition to be held at Sharjah Mega Mall will bring exhibitors from the GCC countries who will participate in this 5-day activity, in addition to prominent exhibitioners that will showcase their gold medal exhibits along with young exhibitors showcasing their philatelic exhibits. The exhibitors vary from countries like the United Arab Emirates, Oman, Kuwait, Qatar, Bahrain and Saudi Arabia plus other countries. Additionally, the philatelic and numismatic dealers along with the Emirates Post with few other postal administrations will take part in the exhibition. There will be philatelic activities, meetings, lectures, gathering and a philatelic and numismatic auction of rare items.
