Sharjah Media City (Shams) is participating in the 7th edition of the Sharjah International Film Festival for Children and Youth (SIFF). The festival currently underway at the Al Jawaher Reception and Convention Center, is expected to run until October 18. SIFF is the first children and youth festival in the country and a project of FUNN, an organization established by Sharjah government.
Through the festival, Shams aims to bolster their relationship with FUNN, and encourage media literacy among children and youth. Such festivals provide an ideal platform for talented individuals to showcase their creativity in the film and media industry.
H.E. Dr Khalid Omar Al Midfa, Chairman of Sharjah Media City (Shams) said, “It’s an honor to be the Golden Sponsor for this year’s edition of the event. The festival is known to bring some of the best films created internationally, while providing children and youth with the opportunity to learn more about creating new and engaging content. Sponsored by Her Highness Sheikha Jawaher bint Mohammed Al Qasimi, Chairperson of the Supreme Council for Family Affairs, this year’s festival will be attended by a large group of celebrities and filmmakers from all over the world.
During the event, Shams is also conducting a technical workshop focusing on the nuances of production and the significance of working as a team to create the perfect film. Titled “One o One,” the workshop is expected to provide a detailed insight into the technical and creative aspects of filmmaking.
